Emotional Freedom Technique
Still holding onto emotions that you can’t seem to let go of?
You may understand where your anxiety comes from. You may have tried to think differently, stay positive, or push through — but the same fears, reactions and emotional patterns keep showing up.
That’s because anxiety and emotional pain are not just held in your thoughts. They are also held within your nervous system and your body.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), also known as tapping, can help you gently release the emotional charge behind difficult experiences, calm your nervous system, and create new responses.
EFT combines elements of modern psychology with acupressure techniques to help your brain and body process emotions differently.
It can support you with:
• Anxiety and overwhelm that feels difficult to switch off
• Self-doubt and feeling like you’re never enough
• Emotional triggers linked to past experiences
• Fear, stress and feelings of being stuck
• Confidence and self-worth struggles
• Patterns that keep affecting your relationships and choices
Is EFT right for you?
EFT can be especially helpful if you feel like you understand your anxiety on a logical level, but your emotional reactions still feel difficult to control.
You may know that something from your past is affecting you, but you're still finding yourself experiencing the same fears, triggers, thoughts or behaviours.
EFT can help you work with the emotional patterns underneath the surface, including:
• Feeling overwhelmed by emotions that seem bigger than the situation
• Repeating the same relationship patterns
• Struggling with self-worth or feeling “not enough”
• Finding it difficult to let go of past experiences
• Feeling stuck in fear, stress or old protective responses
A personalised approach to your healing
EFT is one of the tools I use within my trauma-informed approach.
During our sessions, we look at what is happening underneath the anxiety — the experiences, beliefs, emotions and nervous system responses that may be keeping you stuck in your patterns of behaviour.
Depending on what you need, I may combine EFT with coaching techniques, Clinical Hypnotherapy, nervous system regulation practices, and other approaches to support deeper emotional change.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach because your anxiety, your experiences and your patterns are unique to you.
The aim isn’t to erase your emotions or force yourself to “get over” the past.
It is to help you understand yourself more deeply, feel safer within yourself, and develop the self-trust to respond to life differently.
How EFT can help
Through gentle tapping techniques and guided conversation, we explore what is keeping you stuck and work with the emotions, beliefs and experiences underneath the surface.
Many people experience:
• More calm and emotional balance
• Feel less overwhelmed by your thoughts and feelings.
• A stronger sense of self
• Begin trusting yourself and feeling more confident in who you are.
• Greater understanding
• Observe your emotions rather than feeling controlled by them.
• Freedom from old patterns
• Release emotional responses that no longer serve you.
Why EFT with me?
I combine EFT with my trauma-informed approach, helping you understand not only what you are feeling, but why those feelings are there.
Every session is personalised around your experiences, your emotions and the patterns you want to change.
This isn’t about forcing yourself to “move on” or ignore what happened. It’s about creating space to process what has been holding you back, so you can respond to life with more understanding, confidence and self-trust.
